Highlights

The mean monthly temperature for Juneau in April was 44.9°F, 4.1°F above normal. This makes 2016 the warmest April on record for Juneau, breaking the old record of 44.4°F from 1993. The highest temperature for the month was 61°F on the 22nd. A daily high record was also set on the 1st, when a temperature of 58°F was recorded, breaking the old 1958 record by 2°F. The lowest temperature for the month was 30°F on the 20th.

Precipitation was higher than normal, with 5.16" measured, 176% of the 2.94" normal. Only trace amounts of snowfall were observed, while 1.1" is normally expected. One daily rainfall record was set on the 17th with 0.89" measured, breaking the old record of 0.63°F from 1983. The highest wind speed was 40 mph on the 30th from a southeasterly direction, while the average wind speed was 8.0 mph.
