Highlights

Fairbanks had a mean monthly temperature of 62.8°F this June, 2.4°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 90°F occurring on the 9th, a new record for this day, breaking the old record of 87°F from 1957. This is also the second earliest date for the temperature to reach 90°F, after the 90°F reached on May 28th, 1947. The lowest temperature was 43°F on the 13th and 15th.

Precipitation was above normal with 1.73” reported, 0.36” above the normal of 1.37”. The total rainfall of 1.03" on the 11th set a new daily record; breaking the old record of 0.95" set a year ago. The highest wind speed was 29 mph from a northeasterly direction on the 6th, while the average wind speed was 5.6 mph.
