Highlights

In December 2010, Fairbanks was significantly colder and dryer than expected. The mean monthly temperature was -17.9°F, 12.0°F below the long term mean. This is a very substantial deviation for a monthly mean temperature. The coldest day occurred on the 15th with -41°F, while the last day of the month was the warmest with a maximum of 19°F. Precipitation was 0.23", only 1/3 of the normal of 0.74".
