In March Anchorage had an observed monthly mean of 27.1°F, 0.5°F above normal. The warmest day for the month was the 14th, with 43°F recorded, while the coldest temperature observed this month was 6°F on both the 8th and 9th

Precipitation was 0.70", just 0.10" above normal. Further, the 0.41" recorded on the 14th broke the 1988 record of 0.17.  Snowfall was 1.0" above normal, with 10.9" observed for the month. The average wind speed was 5.2 mph, with the greatest wind gust recorded at 45 mph on the 11th from a southeasterly direction.
