Highlights

April's mean monthly temperature for Anchorage was observed at 40.7°F, 3.9°F above the long term normal of 36.8°F normal. The highest temperature measured this month was 58°F on the 26th, while the lowest was 25°F on the 14th.  While no new daily record temperatures were set, on the 7th the daily record high temperature of 50°F from 1995 was tied.

Precipitation was slightly higher than normal with 0.66" of precipitation measured, 0.19" above the expected amount. Snowfall was near normal, with 4.4" of snow recorded, 110% of the 4.0" normal. The average wind speed was 7.4 mph, while the greatest wind speed was 44 mph on the 19th, from a southeasterly direction.
