In April Anchorage had a monthly mean temperature of 38.1°F, 1.3°F above normal. The highest temperature recorded for the month was 59°F on the 30th, while the lowest was 15°F observed on the 10th. The high of 56°F on the 21st is a new daily record, breaking the old record of 55°F from 2007. Then again on the 22nd, a new high of 58°F was reached, topping the 1996 record of 55°F.
Precipitation was slight at 0.04", 0.43" below the normal amount of 0.47". Snowfall was also low with a mere 0.4" recorded, just 10% of the normal of 4.0". The greatest wind speed occurred on the 13th at 39 mph, from a southeasterly direction, while the average wind speed for the month was 5.7 mph.
