Anchorage April 2012


Highlights

Anchorage recorded an average temperature of 38.8°F, 2.0°F above the normal of 36.8°F. This was a pleasant change from March, for which monthly the mean temperature was substantially below normal. The maximum temperature of the month occurred on the 25thand 27th, both with 58°F, while a minimum temperature of 21°F was observed on the 3rd. For the whole month the temperature followed the expected trend fairly closely.
Precipitation was reported at 0.50" water-equivalent, which is slightly above the normal of 0.47". The average cloudiness was 60% and the mean monthly wind speed was calculated at 5.1 mph. Peak wind speeds were missing for about half of the month, but on the 14tha gust of 63 mph was reported, blowing from a southeasterly direction.
