Arctic Sea Ice Extent: October 6, 2022

October 6, 2022: Over the past week, the sea ice has continued to increase by a greater rate from last week of 8.90%, from the level on 09/29/2022 of 5.128 M km2 to 5.629 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was greater from the anomaly of -1.657 M km2 on 09/29/2022 to a more negative anomaly of -1.698 M km2 on 10/06/2022 and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
