Arctic Sea Ice Extent: November 7, 2024

November 7, 2024: The Arctic sea ice has continued to increase this week and at a greater rate of 10.61% (as opposed to last week’s increase rate of 5.75%), from the level on 10/31/2024 of 7.543 M km2 to 8.438 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was lower than the anomaly of -1.395 M km2 on 10/31/2024 to a lower negative anomaly of -1.096 M km2 on 11/07/2024, and so less anomalously negative for this time of year than last week.
