Arctic Sea Ice Extent: August 4, 2022

August 4, 2022: Over the past week, the sea ice has now decreased by a lower rate from last week of 6.31%, from the level on 07/28/2022 of 7.064 M km2 to 6.618 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was lower from the anomaly of -1.292 M km2 on 07/28/2022 to a less negative anomaly of -1.225 M km2 on 08/04/2022 and so less anomalously negative for this time of year.
